Waynesville, MO — The Waynesville Career Center (WCC) is set to host a special evening in support of the Waynesville St. Robert Animal Shelter. The 2025 Portfolio Night, scheduled for Thursday, May 1st, at 6:30 PM, will showcase the talents of WCC's Advertising Design students while raising funds for a cause close to the community's heart.

Each year, WCC's Advertising Design students select a local nonprofit to receive a free, professionally developed advertising campaign. This year, the students have chosen the Waynesville St. Robert Animal Shelter, dedicating their creativity and skills to promote the shelter's mission and services.

The event promises to be a memorable evening filled with community engagement and entertainment. Highlights include:

  • A guest speaker from the Waynesville St. Robert Animal Shelter, sharing insights into the organization's work

  • A gallery-style display of student-created artwork and ad campaigns designed to raise awareness for the shelter

  • A fun and heartwarming doggie pageant, featuring adoptable pets

  • Delicious hors d'oeuvres and a meal prepared by the WCC Culinary Arts class, offering a taste of student craftsmanship

Tickets for the event are available for just $25, with all proceeds benefiting the shelter’s ongoing efforts to care for animals in need and find them forever homes.

The event will take place at the Waynesville Career Center and attendees are encouraged to dress in semi-formal attire, such as Sunday best.

“This event is a wonderful way to celebrate the talent of our students, while also supporting the incredible work being done by the Waynesville St. Robert Animal Shelter,” said the WCC Advertising Design Instructor. “It’s a perfect example of how our students can use their skills to give back to the community.”

Tickets can be purchased directly from an Advertising Design student or by calling WCC at 573-842-2500.

Join us on May 1st for an evening of creativity, compassion, and community spirit. Your attendance will not only support the students but also make a difference in the lives of animals waiting for a second chance.
